Covid-19 Care Assessment Policy
COVID-19 Assessment Policy (updated: Tuesday 17th March)
Disclaimer: Due to the current COVID-19 outbreak and to ensure the safety of our elderly clients, all initial care assessments will be carried out by phone until further notice.
As of Monday 16th March 2020 all initial care assessments will be carried out by phone or video link. This is to avoid any unnecessary contact, however we will still be taking on new clients throughout this time.
We understand it’s always nice to meet with someone in person for an assessment, however we have put this measure in place to minimise the chances the virus has to spread, especially with many of our clients being 70+.
In light of the outbreak the process of organising care with CarefulChoice is also changing slightly. For care starting in the next few weeks, after your initial phone assessment we will send carer profiles and organise a time for you to speak to potentially suitable carers.
Once a carer is found we will organise a start date and our care manager will travel to you with the carer, completing a home risk assessment on this day. At present we are advising families that no more than two other family members are present on this day.
We are advising all of our carers with daily updates and have introduced a number of measures to ensure that all of our clients and carers are as safe as possible throughout this epidemic.
As always our team are here to answer any questions. You can get in touch by calling us on 020 3970 9900, by email on hello@CarefulChoice or by chatting with us on our website.
